It can be easy to get lost in so many energy drink brands available in the market.
This blog is created to help you decide which energy drink should you go for. One by one, I’ll be trying out different energy drinks and I’ll give out my honest thoughts on them here on the blog.
Today, I’ll be sharing what I think about the energy drink called Advocare Spark. Is it worth it?
On the get-go, I can tell you that yes, Advocare Spark is worth the try. It has delivered what it claims it’ll do like boosting your energy and sharpening your focus. In my books, Advocare is an 8 out of 10. I’ll let you know why in a short while.
If you’re ready to go in-depth with Advocare Spark then keep on reading.
What is Advocare Spark?
Advocare Spark introduces itself as a water supplement but the formulation is the same as that of energy drinks.
Its founder, Charles E. Ragus, created Advocare Spark Energy Drinks in hopes to decrease the skyrocketing rates of obesity in the US by providing an alternative that is supposedly better, maybe even healthier.
It has B Vitamins, amino acids, and caffeine to boosts your energy and enhances your mental alertness.
This beverage comes in a form of a powder that you mix with 8 ounces of water to create a nice energy-boosting drink.
Advocare Spark Nutrition Facts
Calories in Advocare
Having 15 calories per serving makes Advocare Spark a low-calorie energy drink.
Many studies show evidence that a low-calorie diet makes you become a healthier and an all-around better person. It helps you control your weight, boosts your mood and wellbeing, and supports better blood sugar regulation.
Calories may have earned enough bad rep in many diet plans for you to fear it, but they actually provide energy for your body to function well. It is found in the food you eat, that’s why you need to consume a certain amount of food or drinks to maintain a healthy life.
The NIH recommended healthy women to consume up to 2,000 calories every day, while it’s 2,500 for healthy men. This calorie count recommendation isn’t for everyone as your intake may vary on your body type or lifestyle.
The factors that determine your daily ideal caloric intake include your age, weight and height, and lifestyle. And at times, your medication (if you have some) and hormones become determining factors, too. To make sure you’re getting the right amount of calories in your diet, I highly suggest that you talk to your doctor.
Sugar in Advocare
Advocare Spark contains no sugar.
Personally, I see sugar-free products as a major thing in my diet. Going sugar-free prevents obesity and lowers your risk of type 2 diabetes. The said diseases are major public health problems and they are now labeled as global epidemic diseases.
Aside from this, opting for sugar-free drinks like Advocare Spark helps you avoid a sugar crash, which can happen to people with or without diabetes. No sugar crash means more energy for you for the rest of the day.
Here’s what else you should know about a sugar crash also known as Hyperglycemia:
Advocare Spark being a sugar-free product makes it a highly-preferrable energy drink for me.
Carbohydrates in Advocare
Each serving of Advocare Spark contains 4 grams of carbohydrates.
This is considered a low-carb count that makes Advocare Spark a better alternative for people on a weight loss diet.
Carbohydrates are vital food nutrients that your body turns into energy. This energy is essential for your body to work properly.
Consuming carbohydrates is as important as putting a limit on them. Too much carbohydrate consumption may lead to health problems such as weight gain, poor metabolism, and an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases.
With Advocare Spark’s number of carbs, these risks are reduced.
Caffeine in Advocare
A single serving of Advocare Spark contains 120 milligrams of caffeine.
This is an average level of caffeine for an energy drink, or maybe a bit weak for those people with a high tolerance for caffeine.
Caffeine is a popular stimulant drug that can speed up the signals traveling between your body and brain. This power makes caffeine one of the most important ingredients in Advocare Spark.
Depending on how sensitive you are to caffeine, it can keep you awake, alert, and energized throughout the day.
I like my caffeine between 100 to 250 milligrams per serving, so Advocare Spark’s caffeine level is definitely right up my alley.
Advocare Ingredients List
In the brand’s efforts to provide e great energy drink, they’ve formulated it with 18 in a total of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids.
Each of these ingredients works together to create a blend that not only provides you an enjoyable drink that holds up in quality but also supports your metabolism, cell growth, and development, as well as supplicates red blood cells, and helps your overall cognitive function.
Vitamins are part of the list and are coming in hot with a wide variety of them. These take part by supporting cell development, increase the efficacy of metabolism, and helps the immune system’s function.
Despite their nutritional nature, I found that some of these vitamins have exceeded the recommended daily intake. Although this shouldn’t alarm you as most of these are water-soluble and will possibly be flushed out naturally by the body.
What follows, however, are completely within their recommended intake.
With the formulation packed in minerals, amino acids, and ingredients that maintain the formula’s quality, you can see, as I have found, that Advocare Spark is definitely a good choice for an energy drink.
Advocare Review on Flavors
I was able to try a few flavors of Advocare Spark, here are my thoughts on them:
Cherry (Rating: 3 out of 5)
The cherry flavor was an ‘okay’ flavor for me. But I would skip this one the next time I shop. It doesn’t taste or smell like cherry and in my opinion, this flavor would look more appealing if the brand can make its powder red in color.
Watermelon (Rating: 4.5 out of 5)
This flavor tastes refreshing and has a vibe similar to summertime. The powder dissolves well, too, as there wasn’t any powder residue on the bottom of the shaker I used. If it weren’t for the aftertaste, this flavor would’ve been perfect.
Fruit Punch (Rating: 2 out of 5)
The Fruit Punch flavor smells so good but tastes horrible. It’s like I’m drinking melted sugar. It’s just too sweet for my liking and leaves a distasteful feeling in the mouth.
Mango Strawberry (Rating: 5 out of 5)
Last but not least delicious is the Mango Strawberry flavor. I ordered some more of it because the first one that I’ve tried taste just so good. The flavor of both mango and strawberry is definitely there. It has the right amount of sourness in it and its sweetness is not overpowering. I highly recommend this flavor.
All these flavors dissolved pretty quickly and they were able to give me a boost of energy and keep me focused on the task at hand, regardless of how each flavor tastes.
Full List of Flavors
Advocare Spark is available in ten flavors at current. Here’s the full list if you feel like trying every flavor it has:

- Green Apple
- Blue Raspberry

They come in single-serve sachets or tubs that can be small or large in size.
How to Mix Advocare?
Preparing an Advocare Spark drink is effortless.
Simply mix one serving of Advocare Spark in 8 ounces of water. This can be cold or room temperature, depending on your preference. Shake or stir until you see the powder fully dissolved, and lastly, enjoy!
Where to buy Advocare?
Sadly, Advocare Spark energy drinks have yet to be available in physical stores. This can be quite a bummer if you’re looking to get your hands on the drink immediately but I assure you that their online availability will have you ordering from the safety and comfort of your home.
How much is Advocare?
Advocare is available in canisters/tubs and sachets.
Here’s a price comparison between Advocare’s website price and Amazon price:
|Advocare’s Website Price||Amazon Price|
|Canister (42 servings)||$54.99||$69.95|
|Sachets (Pack of 14)||$24.99||$36.75|
As you can tell from this table, you can get your Advocare Spark way cheaper at Advocare’s official website.
Now, let’s compare Advocare Spark’s price to other powdered energy drink brands.
|Energy Drink Brand||Price|
|Advocare Spark Tub (42 servings)||$54.99|
|Sneak Energy Tub (40 servings)||$40.00|
|G Fuel Tub (40 servings)||$35.99|
|Rogue Energy Tub (30 servings)||$32.99|
Advocare is relatively pricey. I understand that it’s got amazing formulation but compared to the rest of the brand in this table, Advocare Spark isn’t that extraordinary.
In fact, I can get the same or maybe even better results with Rogue Energy which costs only $32.99, rather than with Advocare.
Advocare Spark’s price point is a disadvantage, in my opinion.
Can children drink Advocare?
Due to Advocare Spark’s caffeine content, people below 18 years of age are discouraged to consume this energy drink.
According to the AAP, adolescents are restricted to drink beverages with more than 100 milligrams of caffeine every day. Unfortunately, Advocare Spark’s caffeine content is beyond this limit. Anything more than this may result in increased blood pressure, seizure, and coma.
The worse that could happen is death due to caffeine overdose. It was reported that an American teenage boy dies due to overconsumption of caffeine, including an energy drink. Read about it here.
Is Advocare healthy?
Advocare Spark does not advertise itself as a health drink, nor is it meant to provide you with all the necessary nutrients you need.
In my judgment, Advocare Spark is a better alternative to your usual sugar-loaded energy drink and can add to the nutrients you otherwise would need to acquire in other food or drinks.
How is it better? Well, this energy drink is packed with healthy nutrients that your body needs, and can suplicate nutrients such as Vitamin C and Calcium which your body cannot produce on its own.
Not to mention that it’s sugar-free, low in calories, with a caffeine content that is just right to give you a boost. Although Advocare Spark has an impressive formulation, this all goes hand in hand with your consumption.
Certain ingredients can put you at risk with their excessive consumption so I suggest that you take precautions in drinking Advocare Spark, or any energy drinks for that matter. Remember that despite their benefits, too much of anything can be bad for you.
Advocare Spark’s claims were true. It delivers exactly in boosting your energy and improving your cognitive function, including focus, memory, learning, and problem-solving.
Although the flavor selections are nothing out of this world, their formulation was effective in helping me perform my daily tasks with ease and improved speed.
The price point is a bit much considering I can get the same results and set of ingredients for a more affordable price from other reputable energy drink brands out there.
Another drawback that I noticed is how they packed my order. The sachets are said to be biodegradable, which is great, but the way they pack them using polystyrene boxes is too much waste. It’s a bit frustrating and I hope to see Advocare Spark improve on this aspect soon.
My experience with Advocare Spark was mainly good and there’s a chance I’ll repurchase a few more when I’m feeling fancy, although with what I’ve noted above, the brand remains an 8 out of 10.
