Nutritional facts are found on the back of the Zipfizz tube.

Calories in Zipfizz

A serving of Zipfizz contains 20 calories.

This calorie count is something I’d be happy to have in my energy drink. It’s numerically low but can contribute enough to the caloric intake I need to consume in a day.

A calorie is a unit of energy. It helps your body cells function the way they should. As per the NIH, a healthy adult’s recommended daily caloric intake is 2,000 for women and 2,500 for men.

As you can see, having a few calories in the food and drinks you consume shouldn’t be on the list of your worries isn’t worth worrying about.

Opting for low-calorie food and drinks like Zipfizz comes with a lot of benefits.

Here’s to name a few:

  • Helps control your weight
  • Boosts your mood
  • Improves your blood sugar levels

According to this study, a long-term low-calorie diet can provide additional positive effects on blood pressure. Calories in Zipfizz are simply enough to supply you with what you need and can come with a lot of benefits.

Sugar in Zipfizz

Another thing to love about Zipfizz is that it’s sugar-free.

As you all know, sugar carries a lot of health risks. There’s high blood pressure, obesity, type 2 diabetes, and fatty liver disease. Unfortunately, all of these are linked to a higher risk for heart attack and stroke.

Sugar-free drinks also prevent you from experiencing hyperglycemia also known as a sugar crash. This is a common side effect of sugar-loaded energy drinks.

Here’s a video if you want to learn more about hyperglycemia:

A sugar crash is common for high sugar drinks.

The absence of sugar in Zipfizz removes the possibility of a sugar crash as well as the risks that come along with its excessive consumption.

Caffeine in Zipfizz

A single serving (11g) of Zipfizz has 100mg of caffeine.

Caffeine is a natural stimulant that helps increase your brain activity, keeping you awake and vigilant. It also boosts your energy levels by stimulating your central nervous system. These benefits are only some of the reasons you might consume energy drinks.

This explains why caffeine can be considered as one of the star ingredients of Zipfizz.

Zipfizz’s caffeine level is low compared to other energy drinks in the market.

Take a look at this comparison table:

Caffeine content100mg150mg175mg200mg
Comparison table of caffeine content between Zipfizz and other brands.

As the table shows, Zipfizz has the lowest caffeine content compared to other powdered energy drinks in the market. This means that with Zipfizz, the risks of caffeine overdose are less likely to happen.

Although this may only be an advantage for those people with slow caffeine metabolism.

According to this study, a low level of caffeine might be too weak and not be as effective for those who have developed an increased tolerance for it. The same thing has been reported to this news.

If you find that your body’s adapted to a certain level of caffeine that Zipfizz can’t supply, you won’t have to trash the drink altogether.

Fortunately, you can consume up to 3 servings of Zipfizz a day (total of 300mg of caffeine) for more caffeine supply, without exceeding the recommended daily caffeine intake. The FDA suggests that 400mg of caffeine daily is considered safe.

Zipfizz calls this group their “Botanical Antioxidant Blend.”Enlisted here are natural ingredients that are rich in antioxidants.

Antioxidant’s main function is to fight against free radicals that damage your cells. This way you can prevent chronic diseases such as cancers and cardiovascular diseases.

The blend includes the following:

  • Caffeine anhydrous
  • Guarana seed extract

  • Alpha-lipoic acid
  • Green coffee bean extract
  • Grape seed extract
  • Grape skin extract
  • Vitamins C and E

Does Zipfizz actually work?

Yes, Zipfizz does work. I have written an article reviewing Zipfizz here on the blog if you want to check it out.

Zipfizz has a good amount of caffeine that’s enough to activate your brain functions, especially your cognition. This includes improved attention, decision-making, problem-solving, and other mental abilities.

It also contains vitamins and minerals that can support your overall health.

However, for those with a high tolerance for caffeine, it might take a few more servings of Zipfizz for it to work effectively.

According to Zipfizz’s website, you can consume up to three servings at most of Zipfizz.

Does Zipfizz cause diarhhea?

Zipfizz is unlikely to cause diarrhea on its own.

The drink itself is filled with antioxidants that are all-natural and is packed with vitamins and minerals. Oftentimes, diarrhea is caused when unlikely substances come together, or the body does not absorb food well.

With that, I suggest consuming other drinks that have a significant effect on the body with caution once you’ve consumed Zipfizz.

Is Zipfizz bad for you?

Zipfizz is not bad for you.

Zipfizz’s formula is rich in nutrients to keep your body healthy. It has vitamins, minerals, amino acids, electrolytes, and antioxidants to not just boost your energy and focus but also support your overall health.

It’s simply a drink with which its risks are present once you exceed the recommended consumption. Other than that, you can enjoy this drink with no worries.

Does Zipfizz make you lose weight?

Zipfizz does not make you lose weight.

Zipfizz is not a weight-loss drink.

Zipfizz was not formulated nor created to become a product for weight loss. However, it is an excellent choice of energy drink if you are on weight control.

It’s sugar-free and low in calories and carbs so it’s able to provide you with energy and focus without interfering with your diet plans.

Is it okay to drink Zipfizz every day?

Yes, you can drink Zipfizz every day.

Zipfizz is rich in vitamins and minerals, with the bonus of being a sugar-free energy drink. It is low in calories, carbs, and caffeine.

This means that consumption of Zipfizz every day won’t impact your body weight and it is unlikely to cause caffeine overdose. It may even be a preferable alternative to any beverage with the number of benefits it provides.

Is Zipfizz dangerous?

With moderate consumption, Zipfizz is safe. The only time it’ll be dangerous is when you drink too much of it.

Zipfizz isn’t inherently evil as it’s simply a product. Your role is then to consume it responsibly in regards to its recommended intake and time frame. With respect to these, Zipfizz will be nothing but good for you.

How much is too much?

A serving of Zipfizz contains 100mg of caffeine. According to medical experts, consumption of up to 400mg of caffeine every day is within the safe zone. Therefore, you can have up to four servings of caffeine every day and be okay.

However, I do not recommend this number of servings a day, as it leaves no room for other sources of your caffeine such as soft drinks, coffee, or chocolates.

Additionally, this isn’t one-size-fits-all advice, because you all have different sensitivity to caffeine. You know your body best so it’s important to take note of its response to consuming Zipfizz.

Even Zipfizz itself does not encourage its consumers to exceed more than three servings of Zipfizz a day.

Moreover, there’s a lot of other components that you must be aware of besides caffeine such as the vitamins, which Zipfizz has actually exceeded in their recommended daily intake. These are Vitamin C, B, and Chromium.

Vitamins C and B are water-soluble so your body just takes the nutrients it needs and then flush out the excess, for instance, through urination.

In a study, it was mentioned that too much intake of vitamins C and B are unlikely to cause harm and are not a problem, at least in the United States.

For Chromium, it is rare to encounter an overdose as the upper limit is 1000mg daily. If this is a bit unsettling for you, a consultation with your doctor will definitely help.

What happens if you drink too much Zipfizz in a day?

Due to its caffeine content, overconsumption may cause the following.

  • Increased heart rate
  • High blood pressure
  • Palpitations
  • Insomnia
  • Dehydration
  • Restlessness

The worse that can happen is overdosing on caffeine which, although rare, can lead to coma and death. Here are its sign and symptom which require immediate medical treatment:

  • Trouble breathing
  • Vomiting
  • Hallucinations
  • Mental confusion
  • Chest pain
  • Irregular heart rhythms
  • Involuntary muscle movements
  • Seizures

To avoid this, consume as directed. Zipfizz does not recommend consuming more the three servings in a day.

How long does Zipfizz last in your system?

Like I’ve mentioned earlier, individual bodies have different metabolic speeds. Although on average, Zipfizz stays in your system for 4 to 6 hours. Besides this, it will vary on your body.

The body consumes energy drinks differently per individual.

Depending on your caffeine metabolism speed, it may take up to ten hours before your body completely clears off from caffeine.

The brand claims, it takes about 15 minutes for you to start feeling its effects on you. This may sound bewildering but most caffeine components in energy drinks fit this time frame.

I think that’s a pretty average waiting time. So before you start with vigorous physical activities or anything that’ll require your energy and focus, drink your Zipfizz 15 minutes before.

Do note that this is simply an estimate and effects can still vary on your body. Moreover, I must warn you to avoid drinking Zipfizz before bedtime because it might prevent you from having quality sleep.

Final Thoughts

Personally, I find that Zipfizz really works. It comes through in boosting your energy and providing you with concentration, hence I think it’s a great energy drink.

It doesn’t contain sugar so I don’t need to worry about the sugar-crash and risks of developing sugar-related diseases if I consume Zipfizz every day.

And it’s nice to have just 20 calories per serving of Zipfizz to compensate for the lack of energy coming from sugar. This calorie count is just enough to get the job done without ruining my diet plans nor making me gain weight.

All in all, Zipfizz is a great choice for an energy drink. It’s packed with nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, electrolytes, and antioxidants to support your whole system so you can stay on top of your game, delivering high-performance every day.
