G Fuel is known as one of the big brands in energy drinks but does it pass the standards of a Keto diet?
Simply put, yes you could drink G-Fuel during a Keto Diet. It has a total amount of 25 calories only, and its ingredients are mostly calorie-free on their own.
These are the basic standards of keto but let’s dive deeper into the details so we can carefully scrutinize them. Read on!
What is Keto?
A Keto Diet is simple to understand. This diet excludes any food or drinks that contain high amounts of calories or carbohydrates.
These ingredients often contribute to the energy we get in a day, so meals that are fatty are often suggested as a replacement for the needed energy.
In extension, 70%-80% of your consumption should not consist of calories or carbohydrates which means there is some leeway for calories and carbs but only a little.
To pass a Keto standard, G-Fuel should be low in calories and carbohydrates. Let’s look into it.
Nutrition Facts Of G Fuel
The nutrition facts of G Fuel are summarized in the following table.
|Amount Per Serving
|Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid)
|Vitamin E (as D-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate)
|Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxine HCL)
|Vitamin B12 (as Methylcobalamin)
Right off the bat, we see that there are only 25 calories in a serving of G-Fue. Along with it, there are some core ingredients like sugar and a few nitrifying ingredients such as vitamins and amino acids.
Calories in G Fuel
G Fuel contains 25 calories per serving (7g).
Due to its sugar-free formula, G Fuel has a low-calorie count. According to the DGA, an average person requires 2500 to 3000 calories per day to maintain health. Therefore, you won’t have to alter your diet plan if you drink the G Fuel energy drink.
Taking a closer look at the nutritional label, you will discover that G Fuel does not contain a lot of calories. Caffeine is what provides most of the energy boost.
In order to avoid your body from collapsing, you should eat nutritious meals instead of relying solely on G Fuel for energy.
Caffeine Content Of G-Fuel
The average serving of G Fuel contains 150 mg of caffeine. This is pretty average for an energy drink.
Energy drinks contain caffeine as their primary ingredient because of their stimulating properties. Having energy drinks at night helps you stay awake and boosts your mood.
With that said, it’s not the amount of caffeine in caffeinated beverages that matters, but the amount of caffeine you can handle without experiencing side effects. Generally, I prefer a caffeine range of 100-200 mg in my beverages with no adverse effects.
With G Fuel, you can portion out your consumption according to your preferences since it is a powdered energy drink. Caffeine intake should not exceed what you need daily.
- increased heartbeat
- high blood pressure
With that, it’s best to know how your body responds to caffeine and adjust your consumption accordingly. In addition, G Fuel should not be consumed by children or nursing mothers.
Does G Fuel have sugar?
Sugar is not present in G Fuel energy, which means you won’t face any health risks associated with sugar.
The sugary taste of G Fuel can be enjoyed by people who are health conscious due to the artificial sweeteners they use such as Sucralose and Acesulfame Potassium.
The good news is that studies have found no links between artificial sweeteners and weight gain. Sugar is not added to this energy drink, so it is healthier than sugar-packed energy drinks.
Artificial Sweeteners in G-Fuel
The artificial sweeteners used in G Fuel’s drink include Sucralose and Acesulfame-K.
Sugar is 600 times sweeter than sucrose, known as Splenda.
The most commonly used sugar-free ingredient in packaged foods and beverages is sucrose. Sucralose is classified as non-caloric because most of the Sucralose consumed by the body is not broken down. Being calorie-free means this is also beneficial for a keto diet.
Sucralose is safe for human consumption according to the FDA. Here’s a video for more information on Sucralose.
Acesulfame-K, the other name for Acesulfame Potassium, is a food additive.
Sugar is sweet, but Acesulfame-K enhances the flavor of food by 200 times. This is an artificial sweetener with no calories used in the manufacture of foods and beverages to reduce calories and carbohydrates.
Similar to Sucralose, this is also calorie-free which is good for a Keto diet and is also safe for human consumption.
Vitamins in G-Fuel
Energy drinks must contain vitamins. Vitamins C and E are included in G Fuel. Let’s see what each of these does for the body.
As an organic compound, Niacin, or vitamin B3, assists the body with releasing energy.
Niacin plays an important role in energy production, cholesterol synthesis, fat synthesis, DNA repair, and antioxidant properties.
For Niacin intake, women over 19 years old are advised to take 14 mg and men 16 mg per day. There’s no need to worry because G Fuel contains 15mg of Niacin, which is the recommended dosage.
B6 is needed for the formation of red blood cells and for storing energy from protein and carbohydrates.
Vitamin B6 plays a major role in the metabolism of protein, carbohydrates, and fats, maintaining healthy levels of homocysteine and maintaining the health of the nervous system and immune system.
For men aged 14-50 years, the recommended daily allowance is 1.3 mg, and for those older than 51 years, 1.7 mg of vitamin D per day. Females between the ages of 14 and 18 require 1.2 mg, women between 19 and 50 require 1.3 mg, and those over 51 require 1.5 mg.
Since G Fuel contains less than the recommended daily limit of 100mg of Vitamin B6, we are not at risk even though it contains 10mg of Vitamin B6.
For this vitamin, 2.4 micrograms (mcg) should be consumed every day by men and women age 14 and older. Vitamin B12, a water-soluble vitamin, is generally considered to be safe even at high doses in G Fuel, which contains 425mcg of it. Injectable vitamin B12, however, is different.
Citrus fruits are a good source of vitamin C and can prevent colds and other chronic illnesses.
Vitamin C may act as an antioxidant and neutralize free radicals as well as prevent infection and heal wounds because it is water-soluble. The body relies on it for producing numerous hormones and chemicals.
For women and men 19 years and older, the daily recommended amount is 75 mg and 90 mg, respectively. Although G Fuel contains 250mg of vitamin C, it is still perfectly safe to consume, as it is far below the maximum daily limit of 2000mg of vitamin C.
An antioxidant vitamin, vitamin E scavenges loose electrons that damage cells, since it is fat-soluble.
Blood clots developing in the arteries of the heart are prevented by vitamin E, which boosts immune function. Also, free radicals are protected from damage by it, and free radicals are reduced in certain conditions.
For males and females older than 14 years, the recommended daily allowance of vitamin E is 15mg. The amount of IU in G Fuel is within the upper limit of 1500IU or 1000IU per day for adults.

Is G Fuel bad for your health?
No, it’s not. However, due to G Fuel’s low-calorie level and lack of sugar, you should only consume it occasionally. This low caloric content is great for a Keto diet so you should keep that in mind.
You will feel alert and energized after taking G Fuel. Vitamins and antioxidants are present in it as well. In other words, as long as you lead a healthy and happy lifestyle, it is not bad for you.
You should consult your health provider before doing this. It’s strongly discouraged to consume energy drinks of any kind if you are underage, pregnant, diabetic, or have a condition that involves your thyroid or serotonin levels.
How much G Fuel can you drink every day?
G Fuel is best consumed twice a day at most.
I suggest starting with one serving per day of G Fuel as it contains more caffeine than a cup of coffee. Initially, try a small number of servings and see how you feel.
To remain within the 400 mg daily caffeine limit, I recommend not exceeding two servings per day of G Fuel energy drinks, which would bring you up to about 300 mg of caffeine.
G Fuel Side Effects
With the help of G Fuel, you can boost your energy, focus, and performance. It is possible to overdose on caffeine if you consume too much of it consistently.
Increased Caffeine Tolerance
G Fuel contains 150mg of caffeine per serving, so it may increase your caffeine tolerance if you drink it regularly.
Consequently, caffeine consumption may diminish its performance benefits over time. Drinking more tea will make you feel more alert and energized, so it’s tempting to drink more. However, caffeine intake above 400mg may have adverse side effects.
Caffeine overdose may also occur if you drink large amounts of G Fuel.
To feel its benefits, a person who has developed high caffeine tolerance may crave more servings of the substance, leading to caffeine overdose. Caffeine overdose can cause the following risks and complications.
- chest pain
- irregular heartbeat
G Fuel should be consumed only occasionally and up to two servings per day. You might notice more side effects than benefits if you take more.
G Fuel Flavors
Among G Fuel’s 40 flavors, you can find one you like. Let’s have a look at a few.

In addition, these really do give you a good boost after having consumed it quickly. Here’s an article with a more detailed review.
G-Fuel is definitely good for a keto diet. It’s low in calories and its inclusions throughout are calorie-free so they don’t add up to the total caloric amount.
Energy drinks such as G Fuel provide some of the best health benefits. If you live a healthy lifestyle and drink in moderation, it shouldn’t be a problem.
Essentially, G Fuel helps you become more focused and energetic. In its formulation, G Fuel contains caffeine, vitamins, and antioxidants that can help you stay alert during gaming sessions.
Despite the fact that G Fuel contains 150mg of caffeine, I don’t recommend using it more than twice a day. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle as well as limiting your consumption of energy drinks is always advisable.
