What is a vegan diet?

vegan food
Veganism is a way of life.

A vegan diet is excluding food that contains animals and animal-derived products from your diet. It comprises all types of vegetables, fruits, seeds, nuts, beans, and grains.

Veganism is a philosophy that runs deeper than just eating plant-based food in your meals. It is a way of life that advocates for the complete riddance of any animal exploitations and cruelty in exchange for food, clothing, and any other purposes.

Part of this practice is not consuming the following:

  • meat (pork, beef, chicken, fish, shellfish, and insects)
  • dairy
  • eggs
  • honey
  • and other food that is derived from animals

Why go vegan?

Well, there are a lot of good reasons to be vegan, here’s to name a few:

  • prevents exploitation of animals
  • a plant-based diet is good for your health
  • it promotes a greener lifestyle
  • it’s a sustainable way of feeding a household

Although avoiding animal-derived products can mean sacrificing a plethora of meals, its goal is definitely beneficial.

Here are the important nutrients for your diet and how much of them you are getting in a single-serve of Rogue Energy.

Calories in Rogue

Rogue only has 5 calories per serving.

This energy drink is a low-calorie beverage that people trying to lose weight may enjoy because it doesn’t contain anything that can add to your weight and that includes calories.

A calorie is a unit of energy that is necessary for your body to function the way it should. Having said that, a little caloric amount in every food and drinks that you consume shouldn’t be avoided, because your body needs it.

According to the NIH, healthy women are recommended to consume up to 2,000 calories a day, while it’s 2,500 for men.

In my opinion, you can consume higher than the given numbers, provided your body is able to burn all of it before the day ends.

Caloric intake relies heavily on how active your lifestyle is so if you’re looking to up your intake, I suggest you track your meals for other calories.

Otherwise, stick to the recommended daily caloric intake or else it will accumulate and turn into body fats, and that’s what you want to avoid regarding caloric consumption.

Fortunately, Rogue has an adequate amount of calories that you can surely burn in a day. Your body burns calories even while you’re doing nothing. Plus, it leaves a lot of room for other sources of calories that you want to enjoy, for instance, a slice of pizza.

Caffeine in Rogue

Coffee is a popular beverage that uses caffeine.

Rogue contains 175mg of caffeine.

Caffeine is one of the major components of Rogue. It’s a natural stimulant that’s popularly used in coffee, tea, soft drinks, and of course, energy drinks.

It plays a great role in boosting your energy and enhancing your mental function. It holds the reason why you’re alert, quick to respond, and formulate ideas fast after drinking Rogue energy drink.

If you’re used to caffeine, you might find Rogue beneficial to you.

While Rogue’s caffeine content is within my preference, I think this is a relatively high level of caffeine for an energy drink. This is almost half of the suggested daily caffeine intake of the FDA.

According to them, a healthy adult is safe to consume up to 400mg of caffeine every day. That’s equivalent to 4-5 cups of brewed coffee.

Having said that, it’s important to drink Rogue in moderation. A serving is probably enough in a day to avoid caffeine overdose.

If you have caffeine intolerance, start with half a serving and increase on the succeeding days if you don’t get negative reactions.

Sugar in Rogue

Rogue takes pride in being a sugar-free energy drink. This is good news especially that diabetes has become a global epidemic.

You can enjoy drinking Rogue every day without the fear of getting diabetes from doing so. Not only that, sugar-free, or at least less sugar in your diet comes with a lot of benefits.

Here are some perks you can get from reducing your sugar intake:

  • promotes weight loss
  • makes your heart healthy
  • better mood
  • mental clarity
  • saves your liver
  • prevents depression

Rogue might be sugar-free but you have to know that it contains an artificial sweetener, sucralose.

You’ve probably heard a lot of mixed opinions about the use of artificial sweeteners, I will leave a video down below for you to watch and decide whether you support it or not.

Despite these controversies surrounding artificial sweeteners, it helps to know that sucralose is legal, permitted, and safe for human consumption of a certain amount in the USA and in the EU.

Is Sucralose vegan?

Yes, Sucralose is vegan-friendly. It is a synthetic sweetener and doesn’t contain animals or animal by-products.

Do its risks outweigh the benefits?

Is Rogue Keto Friendly?

Basically, a keto diet is a diet high in fat, moderate in protein, and low in carbs (sugars). After analyzing each ingredient that Rogue has, it seemed to me that it can pass as good for a keto diet.

However, Rogue has yet to make an official statement regarding their products being keto-friendly.

If you’re still skeptical about it, I recommend that you reach out to Rogue, give them a call or send them an email inquiry. Or better yet, consult a dietician to confirm.

Is Rogue good for you?

Rogue, if consumed in moderation, is good for you.

It is formulated with lots of vitamins, natural nootropics, and amino acids that are all great for boosting your energy and mental focus.

Rogue also has a high level of caffeine which can be both an advantage and a disadvantage.

It’s an advantage because it can supply your body with lots of energy, it can sharpen your cognition for longer hours, and it can provide better endurance so you can deliver high performance during an activity.

At the same, 175mg of caffeine in a serving can be a disadvantage because it can be too strong for you to handle.

Especially for people with low caffeine tolerance, be wary of your Rogue consumption as it may not just upset your stomach, but it can cause many side effects that may lead to caffeine overdose.

It’s always recommended that you drink according to your caffeine tolerance and as directed.
