Let’s decode the truth. Can you drink G Fuel every day?
Here’s a quick answer: Yes, you can safely drink G Fuel every day. Truth be told, you may even benefit from it as long as you consume it in moderation.
Of course, moderate consumption can be different for each situation. It helps to educate yourself on what the recommended amount is, and to assess your body before you decide how much energy drinks you can tolerate.
When it comes to your health, you don’t want ‘popular opinion’ or just ‘friendly advice’, you want facts.

In my opinion, the powder is more advantageous than the canned one in terms of nutrients.

Calories in G Fuel
A calorie is a unit of energy. Energy is what our body needs to be able to perform day-to-day tasks. Thus calorie is good for you as long as you’re watching your intake.
G Fuel’s regular serving of 7 grams contains only 25 calories. This amount is rather low compared to other huge brands whose calorie count ranges from 100 to 200 calories per serving.
Twenty-five calories from an energy drink a day shouldn’t really be an issue since a healthy adult is recommended to consume up to 2,000 to 2,500 calories daily. This means that calorie-wise, drinking more than one serving of G Fuel a day is okay.
I find this calorie count ideal for those wanting to lose weight because 25 calories wouldn’t really impact the body in terms of weight gain.
But then, the choice is yours. If you’re really conscious about the calorie, you can always opt for the G Fuel cans which are calorie-free.
Caffeine level of G Fuel
Caffeine is a natural stimulant that has been widely used from the old times up to the present day. It is derived from coffee and cacao beans, tea leaves, kola nuts, and is commonly found in your coffee, tea, soda, and energy drinks.
G Fuel, similar to most energy drinks, uses this as one of their main stimulants to keep you awake and alert. This is included in their Energy Complex which I’ll tell you more about later.
Depending on the flavor, a 7-gram scoop of G Fuel powder would contain 140 mg to 150 mg of caffeine. If you compare this level of caffeine to other popular brands, you’ll see that 150 mg is quite a standard since the average caffeine content of most energy drinks lies between 50 mg to 300 mg.
And since my caffeine level preference is around 100 mg to 250 mg, I can go on one or even two servings of G Fuel a day to help jump start and finish my daily routine.
Like what I’ve mentioned earlier, knowing your body is important. It’s crucial to understand how your body works to avoid negative results like caffeine overdose.
For healthy adults, the FDA‘s recommended caffeine intake per day is up to 400 mg, so even if you drink 2 standard servings of G Fuel powder mix—which gives you 300 mg amount of caffeine—overdosing is still unlikely to happen. You can even have a cup of espresso on the same day and still be okay.
Now, if you know your caffeine tolerance is quite low, you don’t have to max out the recommended 400 mg of caffeine a day. Of course, it’s recommended you reduce your caffeine intake.
You would know you have a lower caffeine tolerance if you experience the following symptoms after consuming a small amount of caffeine:
These symptoms are not only telltale signs of excessive consumption of caffeine, but instead of fulfilling G Fuels’ purpose, might leave you sleepless, anxious, and unable to function at your best.
Sugar Level of G Fuel
If you glance at the ingredient list above, you can see that the product has zero percent sugar. This is not only reserved for the flavor Strawberry Shortcake but rather consistent with all G Fuel products.
This makes G Fuel favorable to those who are at higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes, trying to lose weight, or just steer clear of sugar in general.
Another advantage of sugar-free energy drinks such as G Fuel is that you are less likely to experience reactive hypoglycemia, also known as “sugar crash”. This happens when the body produces too much insulin after a big meal. Here’s a study you can refer to that sufficiently explains it.

Being a sugar-free product makes G Fuel a much better and healthier alternative to sugar-loaded energy drinks out there.
G Fuel Ingredients
G Fuel has a long list of ingredients. Here’s a detailed list of the product itself:
G fuel boasts three main ingredient complexes: Energy Complex, Focus Complex, Antioxidant Complex, each filled with necessary and beneficial ingredients that fulfill their own purposes.
The Energy Complex contains, amongst others, caffeine which I’ve discussed to be a natural stimulant that is very beneficial in boosting your energy and concentration. Taurine is another on the list within the complex, another ingredient known to improve the body’s overall function.
The Focus Complex contains two kinds of tyrosine: L-Tyrosine and N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine. Tyrosine is famously an ingredient involved in medication for ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) which helps improve neurological function. This ingredient can naturally be found in the food you commonly consume such as eggs and oats.
And finally, the Antioxidant Complex contains, in all of its 163.5 mg glory, 19 different kinds of fruit extracts that serve the body with natural antioxidants such as the pomegranate extract known for its antibiotic effects.
Does G Fuel contain artificial sweeteners?
I’ve mentioned that G Fuel is a sugar-free energy drink, but it can still satisfy your sweet tooth because it does contain artificial sweeteners.
Found at the bottom of the ingredients list are sucralose and acesulfame potassium. They belong to the group of ingredients that contributes the smallest amount in the mix.
How can G Fuel tastes so sugary if these artificial sweeteners are only in small amounts, you might ask?
That’s because sucralose and acesulfame potassium are 200 to 600 times sweeter than table sugar.
G Fuel is great even when you’re trying to lose weight or just want to avoid sugar in general. It’s your sweet drink minus the sugar.
Does G Fuel contain lead?
G Fuel’s warning label stated that trace amounts of lead are possibly present in the G Fuel formula. This is because of the natural ingredients that can be found in G Fuel.
G Fuel has yet to reveal how much lead is present in every serving of their products.
If you’re having doubts whether you should still drink G Fuel after knowing this information, just think of it this way: The possibility of lead in natural ingredients will always be present because they absorb lead from the soil and dust.
So if your food or drink contains natural ingredients, you can expect them to have the same lead content as G Fuel’s. Thus, the lead in G Fuel is no different from the lead found in other types of food or drinks you already consume.
Is G Fuel safe for kids?
According to pediatricians, the recommended caffeine intake for kids in Canada is up to 45 mg.
G fuel has 150 mg of caffeine per standard serving, therefore children and adolescents (age 1 to 17-year-old) shouldn’t drink G Fuel or any type of energy drink that has caffeine.
Aside from the usual side effect such as insomnia, jitters, and increased heart rate, excessive caffeine may stand in the way of calcium absorption which is crucial during children’s growth development stage.

Is G Fuel safe for pregnant women?
According to G Fuel’s official Twitter account, NURSING or PREGNANT women should not consume G Fuel.
The same precaution also applies to the who have medical conditions and are under medication. Similarly, those with heart issues, high blood pressure, and women that trying to conceive are advised not to consume G Fuel by the brand itself.

Is it safe to drink G Fuel at night?
For apparent reasons, you won’t be needing energy when you’re about to sleep, so I personally wouldn’t recommend it.
You should avoid drinking G Fuel four or six hours before bedtime because this can make it hard for you to fall asleep, or worse, you might develop sleeping problems such as insomnia.
G Fuel Side Effects
If you have reached this part, the answer to this question should be clear by now. Intake of G Fuel has no side effects, provided you don’t exceed the recommended dose per day.

Excessive consumption of anything is likely bad for you. This is the same case for G Fuel. Going over the recommended dosage will surely lead to some consequences.
Like I’ve mentioned, G Fuel contains ingredients like caffeine which, with a large intake, can cause insomnia, jitters, and anxiety, or even more serious health complications.
Recommended daily consumption of G Fuel
The brand suggests starting with a single serving and building up from there based on your body’s response. Here’s a further recommendation from the brand as stated on their website:

This gives you a better perspective of how much G Fuel should you be consuming on a daily basis.
But then again, this is only a recommendation. At the end of the day, it’s you who knows your body better than anyone. Just because 3 servings of G Fuel a day works for me doesn’t mean it will work for you.
